Meltemi is the natural wind "machine" which starts daily about 11:00 and increasing non-stop till 18:00. This keep our area the windiest spot in Crete.
Our spot is 7km from the center of Heraklion and 10km from the airport. Every year our local surf club organizes plenty windsurfing cups. Our beach is 7km long surrounded only with sand. East from our spot exist a place for kite surf “lovers”.
After 32 years of experience we insure you safety and a very pleasant and memorable stay. The team of WindSurfingCrete is multilingual. We speak English, German, Russian, French and of course Greek.
We are equipped with F2 and JP boards and NeilPryde Sails. We are the best place to combine windsurf, water sports, mountain bike, relaxing, good food and cool nightlife.
WindSurfingCrete is run by Vagelis Manouras (who was a Greek champion in 1981) station manager and general boss. Himself and his team ensure the safety of the spot and try to do the best to help you improve your windsurfing skills.
